Understanding RedZed

All your questions answered about who we are, what sets us apart, and why you should consider choosing us as your trusted lender for your finance needs.

Founded in 2006, RedZed is a lender that provides loans to Australia’s self-employed community – clear and simple. We are committed to supporting and empowering small business owners with finance solutions, to help them achieve their personal and business finance goals. We take a holistic, common-sense approach to business and income and offer flexible income verification options for our residential, commercial and SMSF loans. We are proud to provide solutions to a segment of the community who are often unfairly shut out by the big banks, as well as those who have less-than-perfect credit histories.

We are proud to be a privately owned Australian company. All 130+ employees are based in Australia, and we are not owned by any banks or overseas entities.

No, we are proudly not a bank. We offer lending solutions to customers who generally find it harder to obtain loans through the traditional banking system. We operate in the specialist lending market.

No. Branches are extremely costly to maintain and these costs are ultimately passed on to you, the customer. RedZed operates exclusively through our head office lending managers and our accredited broker partners.

If you’re self-employed or a small business owner seeking a streamlined credit process, you should consider RedZed. If you have a less-than-perfect credit history and have been knocked back by the big banks, you should consider RedZed. If you’re looking for a lender who truly understands the challenges of running a business, you should consider RedZed. We take a holistic, common-sense approach to assessing income and risk and champion financial inclusion for borrowers who are often unfairly shut out by the big banks. We individually assess each loan application on merit and work closely with you (or your broker) to identify a solution to meet your needs.

Our loans

The devil is in the details. Fully understanding our loan options will help you make informed decisions, and we're here to assist you every step of the way.

RedZed offers a range of loan products designed to assist Australia's self-employed. These include residential, commercial, and SMSF loans. A real estate asset must secure all RedZed loans.

No, we don't offer unsecured loans like personal loans or loans secured by assets such as a car, truck, caravan, or boat. These loans are often called Asset Finance or Equipment Finance loans. You can, however, use the equity in your home or commercial property to fund the purchase of these types of assets via a RedZed residential or commercial loan.

No, we don’t offer construction loans or loans where the purpose is to undertake major structural renovations. Loans to renovate kitchens or undertake landscaping are generally acceptable.

RedZed offers competitive interest rates across its entire product range. Interest rates vary depending on the type of loan required, the type and location of the security property, and your individual risk profile. We recommend speaking to your accredited RedZed broker to ascertain the right product for you, or call our team on 1300 722 462

As fees and charges vary depending on the loan taken out, we recommend speaking with an accredited RedZed broker for more information. You can also contact us directly on 1300 722 462. Please note that regular government fees (e.g., stamp duty) apply to all RedZed mortgages.

RedZed is not a bank so must obtain funds to lend from external markets. While the cash rate is an important contributor in determining interest rates, the costs of obtaining funding from those other sources is also a factor.

RedZed will consider providing loans to assist with refinancing existing business debt or raising working capital. We recommend contacting us on 1300 722 462 or discussing your needs with a RedZed accredited broker.

Tax debt is very common for those running their own businesses, which is why we provide tax debt funding solutions. We recommend contacting us on 1300 722 462 or discussing your needs with a RedZed accredited broker.

Our processes

Simple, fast and fair sums up our loan process. We prioritise ease, speed and common sense to ensure you enjoy a seamless lending experience. Learn more about our processes below.

Start by contacting our friendly team here or call us on 1300 722 462. Alternatively, speak with a RedZed accredited broker about getting a loan with RedZed.

Yes. As part of the application review process, RedZed’s credit assessment team will review your credit history within the legal requirements of the current Privacy Act to assess whether we can suitably meet your needs with a RedZed product. When you complete a RedZed loan application form, you will be asked to sign a Privacy Declaration, which will grant us access to your files.

We understand events happen that can cause financial challenges. We have solutions that can assist those with past bankruptcies. We recommend contacting us on 1300 722 462 or discussing your situation with a RedZed accredited broker.

RedZed will consider defaults and judgments. RedZed understands that running a business can be complex and that things don't always go according to plan. Rather than automatically rejecting credit-impaired borrowers, we take the time to understand the underlying reasons behind defaults and judgments and assess your current ability to repay the loan. As a responsible lender, we look to ensure that we do not offer you any funds that we don’t think you can repay.

Generally, the process takes 3 to 4 weeks. We are FAST! It's one of our strengths. However, many different people are involved in the lending process, e.g., valuers, accountants, conveyancers, financial planners, other banks, etc., meaning that delays can occur. We recommend providing the various pieces of information we need as quickly as possible to give you the best chance of a speedy outcome. If you want to chat with us about your particular situation, send us a message here.
