The Queensland government has announced an additional $100 million in small business grants as part of its continuing efforts to assist the economic recovery of the state economy.

This latest initiative is part of the government’s ‘Unite and Recover’ program to restore and create jobs. Stage two of the program will be focused on small businesses, agriculture, construction, tourism, arts and culture.

Some of the initiatives include:

• $23.16m taxi support package that will provide one-off and up-front payments to operators, licence holders and booking entities.
• $15m airline route support to and stimulate domestic tourism
• $4.2m for the performing arts and live music industry
• $4.15m dedicated to temporary outdoor infrastructure, capital grants and the development of a virtual venue for performances
• $5m to assist agricultural trade relationships in key markets
